Novelis has been appointed as a FIRST Strategic Partner by the global robotics community, FIRST, which coaches young scientific minds for the upcoming technological era.
While Novelis is a world-leading sustainable aluminium solutions supplier and the maker of aluminium rolled items or recycled products, FIRST initiates capable minds to explore pathways of innovation.
Though completely different in their initial stages of the commercial approach, both brands have a knack for sustainability and a better-educated future generation. Novelis has supported FIRST through many of its essential initiatives or programmes, lending financial support and providing aluminium donations of all kinds for the last ten years.
But now the aluminium giant is ready to extend its hands as a strategic partner to FIRST with the ultimate aim of instigating young minds worldwide to be environmentally conscious and champion supporters of sustainability around their neighbourhood.
The vice president of sustainability at Novelis, Suzanne Lindsay-Walker, asserted: “Over the past decade, Novelis has been inspired by the ingenuity and passion for STEM and sustainability FIRST and all of its participants embody.”

On behalf of Novelis and our global workforce, we are excited to grow our partnership, collaborate with our fellow Strategic Partners, and help FIRST expand upon its worthy mission,” Suzanne added to her monologue.
Novelis has partnered with more than 20 different enterprises (one federal agency as well) that have earned the top-of-the-list sponsorship of FIRST through their continuous, noteworthy and genuine support. These strategic partners all together have raised substantial funding, overseen tuition, volunteerism, machinery and much more to augment the global reach and impact of FIRST.
The CEO of FIRST, Chris Moore, gleefully commented: “We are thrilled to announce that Novelis has expanded its longtime support of FIRST and is now officially a Strategic Partner.”

All through the past decade, Novelis has provided supportive aid to FIRST in all means possible, from sending in aluminium solutions worth thousands of dollars for the FIRST Robotics Competition Kit to organising workshops and scholarships for eligible youth in the Asian sector, from providing financial support teams during events in Europe to invigilating team growth and retention in South America and many more. Novelis can proudly claim it has given financial support and tuition to North American teams and incentivised special grant programmes for teams achieving full recyclability in their regional communes.
