The Eurofoil factory in Rugles, France specializing in aluminium foils focus to sustain its activity and development.

Eric Ligerot, General Manager, Eurofoil, admitted: "socially, it was difficult to live. After the Employment Protection Plan (PSE) in 2015 at the Eurofoil factory in Rugles (Eure), specializing in the production of aluminium foils, the director and the whole team had to raise their heads and go from the front.”

“And today, the disparaging image of previous years marked by the PSE is over. Even if all is not rosy, the indicators are green for this company existing since 1947 and which operates on its 11-hectare site.”
“Since 2015, we have maintained the number of employees on the site, i.e. 200 in the Rugles basin. The company had lost 94 employees due to the safeguard plan. We are also more productive”.
The company, whose employees all have a unique and specialized profession, works for food (aseptic cartons, flexible and semi-rigid packaging, etc.), construction (insulation, pipes, etc.), automotive (heat exchanger, etc.).
In 2020, as the Covid-19 crisis is weighing down many industries, Eurofoil increased its productivity by 23%, with just over 25,500 tonnes of finished products. "We have maintained activity during this period of the health crisis."
Eric Ligerot added: “We are aware of the situation and our financial difficulties. But we continue to invest in the plant and maintain our equipment.”
From 2012 to 2020, €11.4 million were spent on maintenance and €6.9 million invested. “Our desire is to keep this factory alive, to improve the quality of our products and to serve customers. We need to reduce costs while strengthening our competitiveness.”
Michel Doudeau, the plant's quality manager, highlighted: “Between 2018 and 2020, we had very strong growth in exports to the United States. International business is a real strength of Eurofoil which sells 80% outside France.
“Currently in the Continuation Plan, the factory in Rugles aims to be ambitious. We have 70 years of technical skills in the service of rolling aluminium in low thickness and large width. A reference and a unique process in France, real know-how transmitted from generation to generation, some of our employees represent the third generation of a family.”
"We are looking for employees with technical skills, like technical, electrical and mechanical maintenance" explains Valérie Heude, Director of Human Resources.
