Estimated N. American fabricated aluminum demand

Demand for semi-fabricated (mill) products was up 4.9% to a total of 7.386 billion lb in the same period. Year-to-date, apparent consumption (demand less exports) in domestic markets totaled an estimated 8.683 billion lb, 3.7% above the previous year.
Demand for aluminum semi-fabricated (mill) products in the US and Canada totaled an estimated 1.318 billion lb in June, up 6.1% over the June 2010 total of 1.242 billion lb. Aluminum sheet and plate demand totaled 782 million lb in June, up 6.8%, while extruded products declined less than 1% to 281 million lb.
