EGA named top importer and exporter at ADPC 2014 Customer Awards

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is delighted to have received the 'Best Importer and Exporter' award in the 2014 Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) Customer Awards. Abdulla Kalban (Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of EGA) and Saeed Al Mazrooei (CEO: UAE Operations at EGA) received the award on behalf of the business during a gala dinner on 29 April 2015.
Having exported approximately 88.5 per cent of the 2.3 million tonnes sold by the business in 2014, EGA achieved a growth rate in exports of 23 per cent in 2014 compared with the previous year. With an annual production capacity of 2.4 million tonnes per year, EGA ranks among the world's top five primary aluminium producers and places the UAE as the world's fourth largest aluminium producer. EGA's high quality, high performance products are shipped to over 350 customers in almost 70 countries.
The ADPC accolade follows the 'Exporter of the Year' award that was presented to EGA at the 7th E-Services Excellence Awards (ESEA), which were organised by Dubai Trade - a subsidiary of Dubai World - in February 2015. ESEA promotes the use of e-Services in businesses based in Dubai and recognises achievements in online transactions among Dubai World 's customers.
Commenting on the two honours received, Kalban said, "EGA has long-standing, mutually beneficial relationships with both ADPC and Dubai World which mirror our partnership approach to all our stakeholders. We continually seek opportunities to increase efficiencies, perform better and excel in operations through a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement; and are delighted that our import and export performances in the past year have been acknowledged through these prestigious awards."
