Notes:
There may be a difference when calculating the price with respect to
import volume, carbon price, and benchmark emissions, as the embedded
formula may result in minor variations due to decimal rounding.
Therefore, the actual value may vary.
CBAM is applicable to trade volumes starting from 50 metric tonnes. For trade volumes below 50 metric tonnes, CBAM does not apply.

EEF and WAE plan extrusion expansions due to increased construction activities
2MINS READ
As the construction business booms in the UAE regions, the demand rises for aluminium extrusion products. Two subsidiaries of the Masharie LLC, which is Dubai Investments’ private equity segment, have announced that they will be pursuing expansion plans aggressively.
Emirates Extrusion Factory (EEF), one of UAE’s leading aluminium extrusion companies and White Aluminium Extrusion (WAE), an aluminium and glazing company have both reported heightened demand for their products. The aluminium profile demands have increased by 13% YOY form 24,100 in 2013 to 27,250 mt in 2014.
Due to this increasing demand, EEF is planning to expand their capacities by launching a new production line at their aluminium extrusion plant is Techno Park, Dubai. The production line should commence at end of the first quarter in 2015 which will increase the firm’s capacity by 6,000 mt per year.
EEF is also planning to start a new powder coating plant with 7,200 mt pa capacity which is nearly finalized. The latest technology from Europe will be implemented in the plan to make it at par with the international standards.
WAE too is joining the expansion bandwagon with their new anodizing plant from Italy which is in its final stages of negotiations and will be adding 4,800 mt pa to the company’s capacity.
These two companies export nearly 60-70% of their finished goods to the GCC and MENA countries. The companies are now considering widening their horizon to cover more than 50 countries in the next five years. Downstream products too are expected to see a surge due to an increased production in the primary aluminium sector in the GCC and UAE.
