To begin with, Ehab El Elwany, marketing head and spokesman for Egypt Aluminum (Egyptalum) (EGAL), announced that the business has kept its aluminium providing pricing to companies and merchants constant for January 2022. El Elwany stated that the price of local aluminium, excluding taxes, is between EGP 52,000 and EGP 64,000. This was followed by the news of Jindal Aluminium Limited starting production at the Bhiwadi plant after completing a Rs 100-crore acquisition of Indo Alusys Industries Limited (IAIL) assets. Jindal Aluminium Limited has completed a Rs 100-crore acquisition of Indo Alusys Industries Limited (IAIL) assets and begun production at the Bhiwadi facility. Along with the assets of IAIL, its manufacturing plant in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan's industrial sector was also purchased. The site, which is around 70 kilometres from the national capital, provides Jindal Aluminium with strategic access to the northern market and a potential capacity of 14,000 metric tonnes per annum extrusions.

Hindalco Industries Limited cut its aluminium billets and aluminium wire rod prices, with effect from Saturday, January 1, 2022. That marked a cut for the second time in a row since December 30. Hindalco’s aluminium billets price came in at INR 257,100 per tonne, down by INR 2,500 per tonne or 1 per cent from INR 259,600 per tonne on December 30.
According to China customs data, China exported 114,700 tonnes of aluminium foil in November 2021, which reflected a month-on-month increase of 2 per cent and a year-on-year rise of 13 per cent. Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Henan, Shandong ranked top in November, exporting more than 10,000 tonnes each and accounting for over 10 per cent of the export proportion. The five provinces mentioned above accounted for up to 79 per cent of the total exports.
Hindalco Industries Limited has increased its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices, with effect from Wednesday, January 5, 2022, following two consecutive cuts on December 30 and January 1. The company’s aluminium wire rod price has come in at INR 255,850 per tonne, up by INR 1,750 per tonne from INR 254,100 per tonne on January 1.
According to the Shanghai Metals Market, aluminium billet inventories in China hikes by 32,900 tonnes week-on-week across five major consumption areas. As a result, the inventories registered at 113,200 tonnes, as of Thursday, January 6. On a weekly basis, inventories in the five major markets all increased, with Foshan and Huzhou seeing the largest increases. Inventory in Foshan increased by 14,700 mt, or 38.89%, over the previous week, while inventory in Huzhou increased by 10,000 mt, or 71.43%.

Hindalco Industries Limited has continued to increase its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices for the third consecutive day, with effect from Friday, January 7. The company has hiked its aluminium wire rod price by INR 3,500 per tonne, bringing it to INR 260,600 per tonne. A day ago (on January 6), the product’s price was INR 257,100 per tonne, seeing a rise of INR 1,250 per tonne.
