This week, the aluminium downstream sector witnessed some vital occurring, being one of only two suppliers, Aidro received Leonardo's Declaration of Qualification for Additive Layer Manufacturing. While in Australia, Capral Aluminium acquired EDGE Architectural Glazing Systems from Victoria-based Aluminium Industries, this will enable Capral as a dealer of this particular range. A South-Korean automobile component provider, DongShin Motech Ltd, agreed on an investment of $60 million with the Windsor-Essex authorities to construct a 170,000 square-feet aluminium casing factory for lithium-battery makers like LG Energy Solutions and Stellantis.

Previously this month, DongShin Motech Ltd, a South-Korean vehicular component provider, signed a letter of intent with the Windsor-Essex authorities declaring an investment of $60 million (expandable to $90 million) for the construction of a 170,000 square-feet battery casing factory that will generate 300 jobs.
Electric-powered heating stations for the aluminium melt have recently been used for the first time in a test operation in the BMW Group’s Landshut facility, the plant’s main production area. As a result, the plant's energy efficiency and resource consumption are both growing.

On June 7, Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) declared that Golden Aluminum received the ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) certification for its recycling, re-melting, casting and rolling activities at Fort Lupton, Colorado, US. The rolled products made at Golden Aluminium’s Colorado rolling facility are in demand throughout the automotive, construction and electronics industries.
