Diehl Ako, Sapa share benefits from technical expertise

A year ago, Sapa’s Profile Academy provided more than 15,000 hours of technical training to designers, technicians, engineers, product developers and architects all across the world.
In 2014, the company has provided approximately 1,000 hours of training in German-speaking regions alone. Customers like Nuremberg-based Diehl are benefiting.
Customized for Diehl Ako
In addition to the full “academy” sessions, where various customers participate, Sapa arranges training workshops customized toward certain market segments and customers – even university students. Diehl Ako, one of the brands in the Diehl group, recently sent application engineers and purchasers to Sapa’s extrusion plant in Nenzing, Austria, to participate in such a session.
It was Diehl Ako’s desire to concentrate the training on heat sinks and thermal management. As a worldwide supplier of control parts for household appliances, having cost-efficient and sustainable cooling solutions is crucial to Diehl’s business.
Next generation
Sapa has a global footprint, technical expertise in cooling solutions, and the ability to mass produce. It supplies Diehl Ako from its sites in Austria and Poland. But what will follow?
“It is our job to help the customer with the next generation, and workshops like these support that work,” says Roland van der Aa, VP Marketing & Product Development for Sapa’s European extrusion organization.
