Crown Holdings, Inc., an American multinational packaging company, has named Dr John M. Rost as its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Asia Pacific and Transit Packaging. The new appointment will be effective from April 1, 2026.

Currently, Dr Rost, for the Asia Pacific region and its base in Singapore, has been serving as the President. He, in the new Tampa, FL-based role, will be holding the responsibility for the Asia Pacific and shall be upholding the responsibility, including the company's global Transit Packaging operations. In this new role, Dr Rost will be reporting to Timothy J. Donahue, who holds the position of Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer at the firm.

Prior to this role, he was serving as the Senior Vice President in the department Technology, Sustainability and Regulatory affairs and further held responsibility for the position in those particular areas since his joining the firm in 1977.

In that role, he was successfully able to create a global regulatory team whose main focus was on forming and leading the present Sustainability team, which was being launched after the firm had been recognised by the Twentyby30 program.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Northern State University. Post this, he did Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago in Organic Chemistry.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Donahue stated, “I would like to congratulate John on this well-deserved promotion. During his brief posting in Asia-Pacific, John has enhanced partner relationships while reenergising volume growth in the region. We are confident that John’s leadership abilities, global experience and deep knowledge of the industry will serve the Company well in his new expanded role.”
