The development of cutting-edge technologies, precise market positioning, and valuable customer research has driven the demand for aluminium bar rods and profiles at a high speed. The increase in the demand for aluminium profiles in the Croatian construction and building sector has given a chance to aluminium extruders to export bar rods and profiles to this country. Aluminium is extensively used in building due to its inherent properties of lightness and corrosion resistance.

According to the analyst, Croatia's construction industry will grow by 7.8% in real terms in 2021, up from 4.5% earlier this year. Civil engineering and building construction, which grew strongly in Q2 2021, was largely responsible for the upward revision.
The nation at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe, Croatia imported 55,815 tonnes of aluminium bar rods and profiles during 2019-21, incurring an expenditure of around $181.30 million for the import.
Croatia, a developing high-income service-based economy imported 12,908 tonnes of aluminium bar rods and profiles in 2019, which accounted expenditure of $45.22 million, whereas, in 2020, the export saw growth by 29.85%, as the import volume inflated to 16,762 tonnes causing expenditure of $54.57 million.
In 2021, the import of aluminium bar rods and profiles unveiled a robust upsurge by 55.97%, as the import volume scaled up to 26,145 tonnes, propelling the expenditure to soar at $81.51 million.
The import of profiles in 2022 is evaluated with further growth of 4.07%, as the import volume is anticipated to stand at 27,210 tonnes, the lowest in the phase, while expenditure to grow at $86.63 million.
The major trading destinations for Croatian import of aluminium bar rods and profiles are Albania, Austria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Belgium, Germany, Czech Rep., Greece Hungary, etc.
