Constellium’s three facilities certified against ASI Performance Standard

Constellium has received Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance Standard certification for its extrusion plant in Singen, production sites in Gottmadingen and Dahenfeld. These facilities manufacture aluminium components and structural elements primarily for the automotive sector.

The ASI Certification program is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process.

The independent, third-party audits of the Constellium facilities were carried out by GUTcert (AFNOR Group).

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI said, “ASI congratulates Constellium on their Performance Standard certification covering their Singen, Gottmadingen and Dahenfeld facilities. The use of aluminium for lightweighting in automobiles helps to reduce CO2 emissions and can extend vehicle range, both of which are critical to improving sustainability in the automotive sector. The ASI Certification at these facilities now adds additional assurance of the responsible production process of these materials.”
