According to China customs data, Chinese aluminium extrusion exports amounted to 82,200 tonnes in November 2022, up by 8,100 tonnes or 10.9 per cent month-on-month but down by 6.7 per cent year-on-year. Gunagdong province accounted for 51.2 per cent of the total exports, followed by Shandong at 12 per cent, and Hunan at 3.9 per cent. In addition, the exports from Hunan increased considerably, but those from Anhui fell.
The overall export market stood stable in November, with extrusion exports to Vietnam reaching 7,641 tonnes, taking up 9.3 per cent of the total exports. To Phillipines, China’s aluminium extrusion exports stood at 5,413 tonnes, taking up 6.6 per cent of the total, and to Israel, 4,427 tonnes, taking up 5.4 per cent.
Aluminium extrusion export rebounded in November 2022 after a continuous fall from mid-year until October. But the growth rate was less than in previous years.
At the end of 2022, the export volume of aluminium extrusion from China is expected to account for 15 per cent of the country’s total aluminium semis exports, lower than 17 per cent in 2021. In the future, the proportion and volume of exported aluminium extrusion will continue to decline slightly.
