China’s average alumina price gains RMB1/t over one month; Low-carbon aluminium price rises 2.9% in eight days

China’s averaged alumina spot price has jumped up by RMB 1 per tonne to close at RMB 2,998 per tonne, while the alumina price in Shanxi has levitated by RMB 5 per tonne to officially stop at RMB 3,010 per tonne. On November 20, the alumina spot price was exactly the same.

The bauxite (6.0≤Al/Si＜7.0) price in Shanxi has increased by RMB 5 per tonne, resting at RMB 620 per tonne, while the bauxite (4.5≤Al/Si＜5.5) prices in Shanxi and Henan have escalated by RMB 10 per tonne to settle at RMB 515 per tonne and RMB 520 per tonne.

The SMM aluminium price chart, on December 19, witnessed variable price changes, with the SMM A00 ingot price gaining RMB 40 per tonne to finally settle at RMB 18,940 per tonne. The average prices have circulated between RMB 18,920 per tonne and RMB 18,960 per tonne.

On November 20, the SMM aluminium price was RMB 18,950 per tonne, which has shed RMB 10 per tonne or 0.05 per cent on a Month-on-Month scale.

China’s central provinces have all seen more or less hikes in aluminium prices, with the highest surge of RMB 210 per tonne recorded in Chongqing, with the price stopping at RMB 19,030 per tonne. In Foshan and Hangzhou, the aluminium prices have soared by RMB 40 per tonne to officially close at RMB 19,050 per tonne and RMB 18,940 per tonne, respectively. The aluminium prices in Wuxi and Shenyang have inched up by RMB 30 per tonne to close at RMB 18,920 per tonne and RMB 18,910 per tonne.

In Gongyi and Tianjin, the aluminium prices have added RMB 20 per tonne, ultimately arriving at RMB 19,010 per tonne and RMB 18,920 per tonne. Only in Linyi has the aluminium price negated RMB 30 per tonne to reach RMB 18,990 per tonne.

The low-carbon aluminium price in China has gained RMB 43 per tonne to officiate at RMB 19,795 per tonne. On December 11, the low-carbon aluminium price was RMB 19,235 per tonne, which was augmented by RMB 560 per tonne or 2.9 per cent within the next eight days to reach what it is today.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) and aluminium alloy (A360) have both escalated by RMB 50 per tonne to finally officiate at RMB 19,600 per tonne and RMB 19,900 per tonne.
