
According to the General Administration of Customs, aluminium imports in China increased by 150.7% year-on-year in January-February 2021 on higher aluminium prices.
Imports of unwrought aluminium and products stood at 455,128 tonnes in the first two months of 2021, Customs data showed on Thursday, March 18 2021. The import was up from 181,500 tonnes in the first two months of 2021.

In January, aluminium imports came in at 308,458 tonnes, an increase of 262% year on year while in February unwrought aluminium and products imports registered 146,671 tonnes. That marked an increase of 52.3%.
China imported 17.06 million tonnes of bauxite in the first two months of 2021, a drop of 7.1% year on year, customs said.
China reported a record amount of aluminium import in 2020 due to higher demand after the coronavirus outbreak.
