China Zhongwang acquires aluminium superyacht manufacturer
China Zhongwang, the world’s second largest and Asia’s largest aluminium extrusions producer announced the acquisition of aluminium superyacht manufacturer Silver Yachts Ltd for an undisclosed amount.
According to a report published by Reuters, China Zhongwang aims to expand the application of aluminium in the marine sector. China Zhongwang said that the acquisition of Silver Yachts was “a significant step to advance the company’s aluminium deep-processing strategy to the marine sector.”
Perth-based Silver Yachts is a builder of custom, high-performance aluminium vessels ranging from 73 to 100 metres.
China Zhongwang had purchased Germany’s Aluminiumwerk Unna in August 2017. Aluminiumwerk Unna AG is a leading manufacturer of seamless extruded aluminium tubes as well as tubular profiles.
