Aziana Limited extends bauxite mineralisation in Madagascar

Aziana Limited has extended the area of known bauxite mineralisation in the Esama region of its Manantenina project in Madagascar.
The first of the company’s exploration test pits on the Soanomeiny returned an 8 metre thickness of gibbsite grading 45% AvAl2O3 and 1.2% RxSiO2.
The contiguous area of confirmed and prospective bauxite resources within the Esama region, which includes the Esama, Ampasimena and Soanomeiny licences, now covers more than 50 square kilometres with exploration continuing to confirm further extents.
Adjoining and to the west of Soanomeiny, test pitting and auger drilling has confirmed high quality bauxite across 25 square kilometres of the Ampasimena licence.
Aziana had previously defined a maiden Inferred Resource of 10.09 million tonnes at 34.1% available alumina and 2.3% reactive silica at Esama.
With large volumes of high quality bauxite at surface, potential for hydroelectric power and its proximity to the coast and the port of Fort Dauphin, the Manantenina project offers the opportunity for direct shipping of ore or the development of a new alumina refinery.
These new results add further potential that a significant tonnage of high quality bauxite in the Esama region of the Manantenina bauxite field is achievable.
