ASI grants AS Oxidwerke GmbH (ASO) production and transformation membership

Located in Stockach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany AS Oxidwerke GmbH (ASO) is a facility recycling salt slag. ASI certified the company as a new production and transformation member.  

During the recycling process by ASO, salt slag is transformed into its components; aluminium, salt and aluminium oxide. These are sold separately in their prospective markets.

Managing Director of AS Oxidwerke and StockachAlu, Markus Wild declared: “Salt slag recycling is a very crucial step in the recycling of aluminium and we believe it is important to do that in an utmost sustainable way. The ASI standards give reasonable and useful guidance in all aspects of sustainability. We are ASI Performance and CoC certified with our “sister” company StockachAlu and now we would like to close the circle.”

AS Oxidwerke GmbH acts as a patron for remediation in Industries and also looks after other waste management services. It has 15 staff members at the Stockach location and yields US$ 3.70 million in sales. There are three companies in the AS Oxidwerke GmbH corporate family.

ASI is the only global voluntary certification board formed through extensive meetings conducted by multiple stakeholders. It assures the stewardship of aluminium safely among the certified bodies, allowing the storage, export and import of the material. ASI works together with producers, users and stakeholders in the aluminium value chain to collaboratively foster responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium.
