Cevher Jant A.Ş., a high-quality aluminium alloy wheel producer in Turkey, achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certification with an emphasis on Material Stewardship for its car wheel manufacturing facility in Izmir, Turkey. As a co-design partner with car OEMs, Cehever contributes its capability to design, develop, produce, and validate the manufactured wheels. The Cevher firm can manufacture two million aluminium alloy wheel production per year.
{alcircleadd}"ASI congratulates CEVHER on achieving Performance Standard Certification with Material Stewardship focus at its two Izmir, Turkey production facilities. Increasing aluminium use in the auto industry is often perceived as being for lightweighting in the body structure and panels. However, aluminium wheels also lighten overall vehicle weight, and with aerodynamic wheel design, improve a vehicle's efficiency. CEVHER's Performance Standard Certification provides assurance of its aluminium material stewardship approach for its wheel production activities," said Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI.
The ASI Certification programme, the first complete voluntary sustainability standard project for the aluminium value chain, was established through an extensive multi-stakeholder engagement process. The ASI Performance Standard certifications for "material stewardship" cover product design, life cycle analyses, managing process scrap, and gathering and recycling items at the end of their useful lives.
