Anheuser-Busch delivers aluminium canned drinking water to Louisiana households

EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Anheuser-Busch delivered three truckloads of more than 150,000 aluminium canned emergency drinking water to Louisiana households at the American Red Cross's request when seawater threatened safe drinking water supplies in New Orleans and southeast Louisiana.

The emergency drinking water contribution was transported to Southern Eagle Sales and Service, an Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partner in Metairie, LA. This organisation collaborated with the American Red Cross to facilitate the distribution of donated water to those in the community who were experiencing a lack of access to clean drinking water.

"The American Red Cross is deeply grateful to Anheuser-Busch and Southern Eagle Sales and Service for their generous donation and delivery of drinking water. We appreciate Anheuser-Busch's ongoing support of our mission and are fortunate to count them as a partner," said Lauren Ulrich, Executive Director of Operations Management and Logistics for the American Red Cross.

The water came from the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Cartersville, Georgia, which, like the brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado, pauses beer production throughout the year to can emergency drinking water and assist communities in times of disaster in collaboration with the American Red Cross.

Anheuser-Busch has a historical record of offering assistance for disaster relief initiatives in collaboration with the American Red Cross, with this connection tracing its origins back to the year 1906. Since its establishment in 1988, the emergency drinking water programme has provided over 90 million cans of water to communities in the United States impacted by natural disasters and many other emergencies. In collaboration with its distributor partners, Anheuser-Busch has played a significant role in this endeavour.

In 2022, Anheuser-Busch, a prominent beverage company, made a charitable contribution by donating over three million cans of emergency drinking water to various communities and volunteer fire departments across 49 states. This act of philanthropy was undertaken to provide support for ongoing relief endeavours.
