Calculate Embedded Emissions for Unwrought Aluminium (HS7601)
Enter your input
Notes:
There may be a difference when calculating the price with respect to
import volume, carbon price, and benchmark emissions, as the embedded
formula may result in minor variations due to decimal rounding.
Therefore, the actual value may vary.
CBAM is applicable to trade volumes starting from 50 metric tonnes. For trade volumes below 50 metric tonnes, CBAM does not apply.
Usage Procedure – How to use the CBAM Calculator Sheet
Enter or update values only in the
INPUT PARAMETERS section (Highlighted in blue) ,
including the carbon price, benchmark emissions, CBAM chargeable
percentage (as per the phase-in year), and imported quantity.
The system will automatically calculate the
payable emissions and the total CBAM cost (€)
based on the inputs provided.
Notes:
• Change any input value to automatically update CBAM cost.
• Formula used: Carbon price × payable emissions × quantity.
• Model aligned with CBAM supplier-side illustrative methodology.

Aluminum Association suggests aluminium to achieve new federal energy efficiency standards
2MINS READ
After the White House issued a plan to reduce energy use in federal buildings by 2.5% per year from 2015 to 2025, Aluminum Association released a statement stating how aluminium can be used to achieve this target.
The motivation to reduce energy consumption in buildings is strong as many private companies that supply to federal government like IBM, GE and Honeywell have announced their own voluntary emission targets.
Heidi Brock, the President and CEO of Aluminum Association, says that aluminium can be used as an important tool to achieve higher standards of energy efficiency in both public and private sector. Use of aluminium has long been a key component to ensure LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. The government policy ‘incentivizes’ the use of products that will make buildings more efficient.
The light-weight, highly recyclable metal helps in balancing functions of heating, cooling, lighting, shading and ventilation and last for decades requiring minimal maintenance, she says.
She also adds in her statement, “last year, the aluminum industry was among the first to release certified 'Environmental Product Declarations' – essentially environmental nutrition labels enabling builders to make informed choices about the use of aluminum compared to other material options. We remain committed to helping educate both public and private sector stakeholders about the benefits of aluminum as they work to meet new efficiency goals and targets."
