This will enable Ball to meet the electricity needs of nearly half of its North American factories with its portion of the project.
However, construction of the wind farm is in process, while the power supply is anticipated to commence in 2023.
The global specialist in energy management and automation, Schneider Electric Energy advised Ball on the VPPA, whereas, Sustainability Services assisted the company in project selection and negotiations.
By 2021, Ball will source 44% of its global power demand from renewable sources thanks to wind energy agreements that it previously signed in the US, Sweden, and Spain. The company aims to achieve 100% renewable power by 2030.
