
On Thursday, October 20, aluminium billet inventories in China witnessed a downfall for two consecutive weeks. As per the data, the inventories plunged by 25,700 tonnes or 26.33 per cent to close at 71,900 tonnes. All five of the major regions witnessed a decline. Due to smelters in Yunnan reducing their output, shipping from Yunnan to Guangdong decreased. Arrivals were unreliable because of logistical problems brought on by the epidemic. The arrivals will rebound, and the inventory will expand once the epidemic is controlled.

As per the data, inventory in Foshan dropped by 16,300 tonnes W-o-W to reside at 51,200 tonnes. On the same day in Wuxi, a drop of 4,800 tonnes or 45.28 per cent was recorded from 10,600 tonnes witnessed last week. As of Thursday, October 20, the inventory stood at 5,800 tonnes.
In Huzhou, the inventory had declined by 3,500 tonnes to settle at 6,000 tonnes from the 9,500 tonnes score last week. The inventory in Changzhou had descended by 800 tonnes to peg at 4,900 tonnes from 5,700 tonnes last week. In Nanchang, the inventory closed at 4,000 tonnes from 4,300 tonnes recorded last week. On Thursday, October 20, the inventory in Nanchang dropped by 300 tonnes.
