Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp. has resumed alumina production at its Gramercy, La., refinery after temporarily halting operations due to Hurricane Isaac and anticipates a return to full production in the second half of September. Noranda reduced operating levels on Aug. 28 ahead of the storm, a spokesman told AMM. Over the next few days, the storm caused power generation disruptions, forcing Noranda to halt alumina production entirely.
