Alexandria Industries’ CEO awarded Distinguished Service Award by AEC

Schabel has been a member of the Council since 2005, serving as the Chairman from 2009-10 with experience in the field of aluminium extrusion and precision machining industry since 1977. The most notable contribution made by him is to protect the industry from illegal and unfair trade practices of Chinese extruders by leading AEC to take up the issue with the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) resulting in the imposition of the Fair Trade Act.
Leaders recognize Schabel’s involvement in the industry. “He helped re-invent the Aluminum Extruders Council, taking it from a nice, traditional organization, to one that is aggressive, nimble, and most importantly, relevant,” said Rand Baldwin, president of the Aluminum Extruders Council. “Many agree he is a chief example of how to develop a culture of excellence, teamwork and giving back.”
