Aldi Australia has expanded its Aldi Solar programme into Western Australia and South Australia, giving more households access to affordable rooftop solar and home battery systems as rising electricity prices continue to drive demand for renewable energy solutions.
{alcircleadd}The expansion extends Aldi Solar's reach to six Australian states and territories after the retailer first launched the programme in Melbourne in early 2025 before rolling it out across New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory later that year.
Developed in partnership with Tempo Group, the programme combines rooftop solar panels, battery storage, inverter technology and installation into fixed-price packages designed to simplify the switch to solar energy.
Affordable solar and battery packages target rising energy costs
Aldi said its entry-level package includes a 5 kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, a 7 kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar system and a 6 kW smart hybrid inverter, including installation, priced at AUD 7,499 (USD 5,278.96)
Customers can also choose battery capacities of 10, 15 or 20 kWh, paired with either a 7 kW or 7.9 kW solar system, depending on their household energy requirements.
Households that already have rooftop solar installed can opt for a battery-only package to increase energy storage without replacing their existing solar panels.

Renewable energy made easier for homeowners
According to Simon Padovani-Ginies, Group Director at Aldi Australia, the programme is designed to make renewable energy more accessible by removing some of the complexity associated with purchasing solar systems.
"Rising energy prices remain a key concern for Australian families looking to manage their monthly bills," he said.
"Aldi Solar takes the complexity out of going solar by offering straightforward pricing, trusted installation and exceptional value, giving households greater control over their energy costs,” mentioned.
He also added that the packages could offer attractive payback periods while making it easier for more homeowners to invest in renewable energy.
Solar demand continues to grow across Australia
The expansion reflects growing consumer interest in rooftop solar and home battery storage as households seek greater energy independence and lower electricity costs.
With fixed-price packages, certified installation and flexible battery options, Aldi Solar aims to simplify the adoption of residential renewable energy while expanding access to solar technology across more Australian communities.
