Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), one of the world's largest aluminium smelters ex-China, announced that the Power Station 5 (PS5) Block 4 Project is progressing per the schedule. Alba's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa stated that the Power Station 5 (PS5) Block 4 Project is progressing without any problems.
"Alba's Block 4 Project has started to take shape with the completion of early milestones as per schedule; thus, allowing us to prepare for the major activities on site. We look forward to safely delivering Block 4, a key Project under Alba's ESG Roadmap, on schedule and as planned by Q4 2024," said Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa.
According to Alba, all civil foundation construction for the Block 4 Project's primary equipment was finished by February 2023. The company reported that up to this point, the M701 JAC gas turbine, steam turbine, and turbine generators have all been purchased by the EPC contractor consortia Mitsubishi Power and SEPCOIII.
They also stated that the equipment's production operations had been finished to around half their original capacity. Alba also mentioned that the Block 4 Project's leading equipment's civil foundation construction was completed around a month ago. The procurement procedure for the project's primary equipment has been entirely finished by the EPC contractor Mitsubishi Power & SepcoIII consortium.
