
Al-Futtaim Engineering (AFE) has been awarded with a multi-million dollar contract by Petron Emirates for providing access scaffolding solutions for Emirates Global Aluminum' (EGA)-owned Al Taweelah Alumina Refinery project.
Headquartered in Dubai, Al-Futtaim company's Scaffolding and Access Solutions division will be providing access solutions to Bechtel Petrofac Joint Venture- the main contractor to install 30-metres high permanent steel structures. AFE will be also providing access to install a conveyor belt through suspended scaffolds from these steel structure.
According to AFE's official release, the project team from the company will follow the European EN12811 standards while also adhering to EGA's regular safety norms. The European EN12811 standards specify performance requirements and procedural details of structural and general design for access and working scaffolds.

The access solutions recommended by the team will ensure there is no stoppage in work due to the suspended scaffoldings," said Senior Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Engineering and Technologies Dawood Bin Ozair. 
Subramanya Rao, General Manager, Scaffolding and Access Solutions division of Al-Futtaim Engineering said, "Our project team has worked with Petron Emirates in the past where we have recorded more than 138,000 man hours without any LTIs and were awarded for consistently complying with SNC LAVLIN and EGA safety regulations."

The access scaffolding project for EGA's Al Taweelah Alumina Refinery was awarded last month and is scheduled to be completed by 2018.
