German luxury car maker Audi is going to use more light weight technologies than ever before in its new generation 2017 Audi A8. The model is due to be unveiled this year. The company would use more aluminium in the body while magnesium and carbon fibre would be utilized in other components part of the car.

The new Audi A8 comes with a hybrid construction using four different materials for the first time including aluminium, steel, magnesium and carbon fibre that will be combined through 14 different processes.
The model is likely to get more weight than the outgoing model due to addition of hybrid powertrains. Tim Hämmerle , body engineer said, “The increase is also due to the need to accommodate new alternative powertrains and because of the increased specification our customers want.”
