According to the report released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the total vehicle outputs and sales in China reached 2.3974 million units and 2.3186 million units, reflecting a year on year growth by 12.27 per cent and 11.47 per cent respectively, while on the other hand, dropped 8.79 per cent and 12.71 per cent against the performances in March.

As far as the passenger vehicles (PVs) are concerned in China, the total production in April reached 1.9998 million units, growing 12.17 per cent year on year but falling 9.06 per cent month on month. The total delivery of passenger vehicles to China, however, increased 11.16 per cent from a year ago, accounting for 1.9144 million units. The top 10 Chinese automakers by April sales were SAIC Motor, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, FAW Group, BAIC Group, Changan Auto, GAC Group, Geeley Auto, Great Wall Motor, Brilliance Auto and Chery Auto, who delivered total 2.0542 million vehicles last month, accounting for 88.6 per cent of total sales last month.
Now, considering the total auto outputs and sales in China in the first four months of present year, there has been a year on year growth by 1.78 per cent and 4.78 per cent respectively to 9.4198 million units and 9.5012 million units. Among that, passenger vehicles witnessed a maximum growing outputs and sales to reach 7.9687 million units and 8.0114 million units, rising 1 per cent and 4.45 per cent respectively.
However, the outputs of the sedan, SUV, and MPV have registered a month on month decline in April even though both the sedan and SUV have witnessed a rise in delivery from the previous year.
According to CAAM’s data, the total outputs and sales of sedan reached 3.698 million units and 3.7905 million units in the first four months, edging down 1.72 per cent year on year and edging up 3.08 per cent over the previous year respectively.
In April, on the other hand, China’s SUV outputs and sales jumped 18.29 per cent and 18.34 per cent year on year to attend 0.8681 million units and 0.81 million units respectively, while sliding 13.05% and 12.08% versus the previous month.
So, to conclude, the year on year growth in auto productions and sales in China indicates a prospective rise in demand for aluminium extrusion, rolling, and die-casting, as they are largely used in automobile manufacture.
