
The London listed Vedanta Resources plc yesterday announced the appointment of Mr Edward Story as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 June 2017. According to a release, Vedanta will also appoint him as a member of the Company's Audit Committee with effect from 1 June 2017.

Mr Anil Agarwal, Chairman of Vedanta, said, "I am delighted to welcome Ed to our Board. His background and domain experience in the oil and gas industry will significantly enhance our ability to grow and develop Vedanta's oil and gas business.
On behalf of the Board, I want to acknowledge Aman's significant contribution during this time on the Board, particularly in transforming the Audit Committee's oversight of the Group's risk management and internal control processes. We thank him for his contributions and wish him well for the future."
Mr Aman Mehta, independent Non-Executive Director of the Company and Chair of its Audit Committee, will be retiring from the Board after the conclusion of the Company's 2017 Annual General Meeting.

Mr Ravi Rajagopal, an independent Non-Executive Director, will succeed Mr Mehta as Chairman of the Company's Audit Committee.
Mr Deepak Parekh, an independent Non- Executive Director, will succeed Mr Mehta as the Senior Independent Director after the conclusion of the Company's 2017 Annual General Meeting.
Mr Edward is the founder, president and chief executive officer of SOCO International PLC, an international oil and gas exploration and production company listed on the London Stock Exchange with operations in Vietnam, Thailand, Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) and Angola.
