The Trimet Site in Gelsenkirchen Receives ISO/TS 16949:2009 Certificate
In order to receive this certification, the company's production plant underwent an inspection that lasted two days and involved the examination of all shifts and interfaces. "The certification shows that our site in Gelsenkirchen is excellently equipped to also meet our future standards for high-quality products for the automotive industry, declares the Board Member Thomas Reuther, who is delighted about the company's achievement.
The technical specification of the ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification is based on the quality management system of the standard ISO 9001:2008 but also contains additional requirements for the automotive industry. The aim of the specification is to ensure the constant improvement of production and manufacturing processes in order to avoid errors and reduce material consumption. The Trimet site in Gelsenkirchen has now added these requirements to its certified quality management system.
The aluminium company uses an integrated management system that subjects all processes to an integrated inspection. The production plant in Gelsenkirchen already received certification for its environmental management system (in accordance with the standard DIN EN ISO 14001) and its energy management system (in accordance with the standard DIN EN ISO 50001) in June 2012.
