TANSIDCO planning to set up aluminium die-casting facility at Chinnavedampatti

An aluminium high pressure die casting common facility centre (CFC) is planned for construction at Chinnavedampatti, by the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation (TANSIDCO). The estimated cost for the same is expected to be 5.8 crores and will be deployed as part of the state government's common production infrastructure (CPI) programme. Chinnavedampatti is a suburb of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, India.

Alanz Die Casting Private Limited, the company floated for the project stated that this project will assist micro-units that are unable to take orders directly from tier-one and tier-two automobile manufacturers due to a lack of infrastructure.

This facility is expected to have a hydraulic die casting machine, trimming press, and an electric furnace. The cluster's detailed project report was submitted to the government for approval. The centre will be Coimbatore's fourth micro-unit cluster.

“Currently, we need to rely on private industries to cast aluminium die and later manufacture components in our units. Majority of the CNC machine shops do not have machinery to cast the die. The centre would benefit 65 micro units that aim to become tier-one or tier-two suppliers,” said Indumathi Nithyanandan, managing director of the Alanz Die Casting Private Limited.

"The members will be responsible for the balance. They can also borrow money from a bank,” stated B. Karthigaivasan, general manager of the District Industries Centre. 

Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) secretary Arun Roy examined the planned facility location and spoke with members. B. Karthigaivasan, said the state government will pay 2.5 crores or 70 per cent of the entire 5.8 crores.
