XSeeker 8000, a bench-top X-ray computer topography (CT) system from Shimadzu, is suitable for aluminium die cast and other metal components. The XSeeker 8000 Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is the smallest and lightest device in its X-ray output class.

The XSeeker 8000 can hold samples with a diameter of up to 30 cm and a height of 32 cm despite its small frame. A 160 kV high-output X-ray source on the XSeeker 8000 allows for examinations of thick, difficult-to-penetrate plastic parts, aluminium die-cast, and other metal parts. The newly created XSeeker control software provides user-friendly operation and great throughput. Users can start making observations by following three steps. There are four preset scan conditions for the XSeeker 8000.

These four choices combine the parameters for material density and CT picture quality. Cross-sectional and 3D volume rendering viewers are included in the basic programme, allowing for more natural observations synchronised with the cross-section display feature.

The patented CT image reconstruction method allows a single scan to be finished in as little as 12 seconds. According to reports, a single button may initiate all repeated scanning procedures used in inspection applications, including the ability to see cross sections of interest.
