The prevention measures from harmful sediment flowing into the Flathead River from the closed down Columbia Falls Aluminium Company have been commenced. This is the first remediation project to take place at the Columbia Falls Aluminium Company Superfund site. Alcoa Intalco Works, an aluminium smelter located in Ferndale, North America, is reportedly conducting its final round of layoffs this week; whereby, 700 employees are going to lose their jobs.
