According to industry sources, Maaden’s aluminium business produced 242,000 tonnes in Q2 2026, while realised aluminium prices reached USD 3,915 per tonne, up 51 per cent. The combination of higher aluminium output and stronger realised prices helped drive the 49 per cent increase in Maaden aluminium revenue to USD 1.01 billion. On a month on month basis, the output declined by 4.23 per cent from August production of 331,000 tonnes. Hydro has signed an agreement with Lyse for the establishment of new hydropower company. The latest data released by the International Aluminium Institute for September 2020 shows the world primary aluminium production stood at 5.42 million tonnes, down by 1.81 per cent from 5.52 million tonnes in August 2020. However, on a year-on-year basis, the output grew by 4.03 per cent from 5.21 million tonnes. China’s aluminium production increased 7.9% from a year earlier as prices recovered and new smelters came online. The daily output also reached a record high of 105,333 tonnes last month.
