Sonoco Products Company, a global leader in sustainable, value-added packaging, including steel and aluminium, has announced the appointment of Paul Joachimczyk as Chief Financial Officer, effective June 30, 2025. Joachimczyk brings extensive financial leadership experience, having most recently served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Corporate Secretary at American Woodmark Corporation, one of the largest cabinet manufacturers in the United States.
Before that, he held the role of Vice President of Finance at TopBuild Corp., a construction services and distribution company headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida. His earlier career includes finance leadership roles at Stanley Black & Decker, as well as General Electric’s Healthcare and Capital Markets divisions.

Paul Joachimczyk began his career as a financial auditor with Ernst & Young LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a Certified Public Accountant.
He will succeed Jerry Cheatham, who has served as Interim Chief Financial Officer since January 6, 2025. Cheatham will remain in the interim role through the completion and filing of Sonoco’s second quarter Form 10-Q and will support Joachimczyk during the transition. Following the handover, Cheatham will move into a senior finance leadership position within the company.
