
Aluminium bar rods and profiles export by Oman is nearing a year-on-year decline in 2017. The Middle East country with a promising downstream aluminium manufacturing base is projected to ship around 2822.5 tonnes of aluminium extruded products internationally by this year end, global trade data revealed.
The total value of aluminium bar rods and profiles export by Oman is estimated to reach US$5.2 million in 2017, down 20.33 per cent year-on-year.

Oman is home to some of Middle East’s leading aluminium extrusion manufacturers. National Aluminium Products Company SAOG (NAPCO) is the biggest aluminium bar rods and profiles producer with annual production capacity totalling 42,000 tonnes. It has four state-of-the-art extrusion presses from Europe. The extrusion presses are complemented by one anodizing line and two powder coating lines (vertical & horizontal), with a capacity of 27,000 MT per annum.
Other aluminium profile extrusion manufacturers of Oman include Oman Aluminium Processing Industries LLC (OAPIL) and Al Musbah Aluminium (headquarters in Al-Ain, UAE). Shanfari Aluminum Co. LLC is another leading aluminium products manufacturing company in Oman today. Its main products include aluminium doors and windows, louvers, partitions, kitchen cabinets, panels, and structures.
In 2016, Oman exported 3548 tonnes of aluminium bar rods and profiles. The total export was valued at US$6.59 million. Over the last 4 years’ period, the country’s export of aluminium profiles peaked in 2014; it exported 3719 tonnes of aluminium bar rods and profiles, and the export volume was worth US$11 million in 2014.
