Netherlands witnesses a downswing in aluminium household articles import in 2017

Netherlands imports substantial amount of aluminium household articles every year. China and Germany are the top exporters of this product. Imports of aluminium household articles have been declining in the last two years. Three-year trend analysis suggests that aluminium household articles import will drop this year.

As shown by the data, Netherlands imported about 16630 tonnes of aluminium household articles in 2016. The amount decreased to 15988 tonnes in 2017. Considering the data for the last two year, the country is estimated to import 14142 tonnes of aluminium household articles in 2018.

The cost of aluminium household articles import stood at US$ 87 million and US$712 million in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The estimated value of import will reach US$622 million in 2018.

China and Germany exported about 9948 tonnes and 2375 tonnes of aluminium household articles in 2017, according to recent statistics. Belgium, another leading exporter, exported about 1188 tonnes of aluminium household articles last year.
