Ikea co-creates novel aluminium furniture Delaktig with Tom Dixon

The iconic Swedish furniture and home accessories brand IKEA has collaborated with designer lighting solutions brand Tom Dixon to create Delaktig- an aluminium single bed with multi-functional features. The piece of novel aluminium furniture can support many customizable add-ons including tables and lamps.

Tom Dixon has designed aluminium plate lamps, racks and coffee tables that would accentuate the bed in a seamless fashion lending a futuristic look to the entire setup.

The Delaktig aluminium sofa-cum-bed was first unveiled by Tom Dixon during Milan Design Week in 2017. The designer introduced the modular sofa in different colours with varied add-ons.

Since then, the idea has been developed further to incorporate many more accents in the form of designer lamps, pillows, and sideboards.

Ikea said they aimed to position Delaktig range as a futuristic furniture piece for the “young people in big cities."

The aluminium bed created by the two big entities in the interior designing world is sure to strike the right chord with the contemporary global citizens.
