Larson Electronics launches explosion proof 112 Watt LED light with aluminium body

Larson Electronics, a global manufacturer in the field of innovative electronic products has come up with an 112 watt LED light which is not only industrial grade with its low power consumption and water resistance but fully explosion proof as well.

The new product, named EPL-HB-11K-LED, is a Class 1 Division 2, Class 2, and Class 3 light. It is simultaneously safe to be used in areas with flammable gases/vapors, combustible dust or in hazardous areas with easily ignitable fibers. Capable of an output of 10,997 lumens of light, this high-quality innovative design is comprised of a powder coated copper free aluminium body for high strength and durability. The lightweight, highly aesthetic compact design specifically designed for 60,000 hours of lifespan with cutting edge heat dissipation LED technology makes it an excellent replacement for older and bulkier fixtures.

The unit was designed keeping universal usage in mind with the incorporation of a ¾” threaded hub for wiring. Not only that, it can be operated with 120-277 volts of AC power meaning it can be used virtually with any modern installation without any special modifications. The LED light with aluminium body is IP66 rated and is devoid of any fragile glass parts, including filaments, ensuring a lasting compact body which can withstand high pressures in hazardous wet locations including a marine environment.

Area of Deployment

Essentially, the new product is being aimed at areas where innovative low-cost high durability lighting solutions are required. According to Rob Bresnahan, the CEO of Larson Electronics, “This new LED light fixture is ideal for applications including oil and gas refineries, drilling rigs, petrochemical facilities, and food and beverage facilities”. All of these are areas requiring highly sensitive equipment capable of operation at the lowest level of threat and thus, ideal for the new product.
