Kyle Salmon, the first trainee to complete AMC’s aluminium boat building programme

Aluminium Marine Consultants (AMC) in East Cowes is raising its sails in celebration of a remarkable achievement—the completion of a four-year programme in aluminium boat building by its inaugural trainee, Kyle Salmon. Having navigated the intricacies of in-house aluminium boat construction training, Kyle conquered the waves and earned the prestigious title of certified coded welder.

"It has been an honour to work alongside such highly skilled craftsmen and gain hands-on industry experience. I have learnt so much throughout my four years at AMC and am looking forward to furthering my career and continuing to develop new skills," added Kyle Salmon.

As Kyle stands proudly on the shores of accomplishment, the company eagerly anticipates a flotilla of aspiring trainees ready to embark on their maritime journeys following Kyle's success. Marking this accomplishment, HR manager Marcia True presented Kyle with an official certificate, acknowledging his dedication and proficiency in aluminium boat building. In addition to the certificate, Kyle was honoured with a G-Shock 30th Anniversary limited edition timepiece watch, recognizing his outstanding achievement.

Nigel True, production director, stated, "AMC instigated a training programme to encourage young trainees to gain the practical skills needed to produce our high-quality vessels. Our training consists of practical hands-on training, working alongside our meticulously skilled workforce. It is our mission to invest time in a welding and fabrication bias training programme to ensure the future of the next generation of skilled workers within the manufacturing industry."

This success sets the stage for other trainees at AMC, as they are poised to follow in Kyle's footsteps and contribute to the company's expertise in aluminium boat building. To express gratitude for the collective hard work and dedication of all employees, including Kyle, the company also extended festive appreciation by gifting each team member a hamper. This gesture is a token of appreciation for their ongoing commitment to the company's success.
