ASI has furnished JW Aluminum with their Production and Transformation membership, which grants the company a worldwide validation and gives a green signal to carry on trade under criteria set by the certification board. ASI works together with producers, users and stakeholders in the aluminium value chain to collaboratively foster responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium. With this, the ASI has successfully enlisted 221 companies in their chain of membership.

The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) is a certification board responsible for the safe handling of aluminium along the supply and production chain. It is the only voluntary globally accepted standard margin gifted to the industries dealing with aluminium to ensure safe stewardship of the metal. It was formed after extensive discussions and meetings by major stock holders and dignitaries associated with the project. ASI Performance Standard certifications have the focus on ‘material stewardship’, addressing issues such as product design, life cycle assessment, management of processed scrap and collection and recycling of products at the end-of-life.
JW Aluminum is an American metal giant who for 40 years has produced infinitely recyclable aluminium sheet and foil used for making products necessary for our daily lives, such as building products and HVAC components that make our homes safe and cosy. The aluminium sent to these industries gets processed at JW Aluminum's Goose Creek (South Carolina) and Russellville (Arkansas) facilities. The team working at the organisation is very committed to this initiative, providing the customers a chance at a sustainable future.

“Joining the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative reinforces our strong commitment to sustainability and broader ESG initiatives. Given our position in the aluminum value chain, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to leverage aluminum’s everlasting nature to its fullest. ASI certifications provide added transparency to customers in core markets – building products, HVAC and transportation – who share the goal to achieve a circular economy and live up to ESG principles. We are committed to secure a safe, sustainable future for generations to come, for the good of all stakeholders, American manufacturing and our planet,” said Ryan Roush, Chief Operating Officer of JW Aluminum.
