Italy aluminium household article import to decline in 2018 after two years of rise

Imports of aluminium household articles by Italy have been increasing in the last three years. China and Romania are the key countries from where Italy sourced maximum volume of aluminium household articles.  According to recent statistics, in 2017, China and Romania exported about 16376 tonnes and 1670 tonnes of aluminium household articles respectively.

Italy imports good amount of aluminium household articles every year. the country imported about 22124 tonnes of aluminium household articles in 2017, up from 21325 tonnes a year ago. The total import of aluminium household articles by Italy is estimated to shrink to around 17740 tonnes by the end of this year.

Italy's total import of aluminium household articles was valued at US$131 million in 2016. In 2017, the country imported aluminium household articles worth US$145 million. The total value of aluminium household articles import is estimated to decline to US$115 million in 2018.

Global aluminium household market is estimated to rise in the coming years.  A recently published market research report predicted a 20-45 per cent or above growth rate for the global aluminium kitchenware category only, in the developed economies.
