The output dropped 32% in comparison with last year's corresponding period. This was reported by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO). Iran has an estimated aluminium nameplate capacity of 457,000 tonnes per year. Aluminium production is expected to reach 1.5 million tonnes by 2025. Afghanistan, Turkey and Iraq are our major exports destinations for Iran’s aluminium. It is to be noted that the U.S. treasury imposed sanctions on the Iranian aluminium, iron, steel and copper sectors in May 2019. However, the country said they were not directly impacted by the sanctions.
