India exports about 23,000 tons of aluminium household articles per year, USA tops the importer list

India has a large number of small and medium size enterprises that manufacture aluminium household articles. Most of these articles are made from remelted ingots sourced locally and through imports. The articles include kitchen utensils, household furniture and fittings kitchen foils and packaging etc. The country exports substantial amount of aluminium household articles globally and has a huge demand in various countries in Europe, Americas and Asia.because of their quality and competitive pricing.

As shown by the data, India exported about 21,725 tons of aluminium household articles in 2015. In 2016, the amount jumped up a little to stand at about 23,147 tons. Considering the data for the last two year, India is estimated to export 22,787 tons of aluminium household articles in 2017.

The export of aluminium household articles delivered USD 113 million revenue to the exporters in 2015. In 2016, the export generated revenue of USD 108 million. For 2017, revenue realization from aluminium household articles export is estimated to stand at USD 105 million. The trend shows that the export price of aluminium household articles were the highest in 2015 yielding the highest revenue to the exporters.  The higher export price for finished product is indicative higher prices for aluminium scrap, ingot and aluminium premiums in 2015.  Throughout 2016 aluminium price was the lowest causing much lesser revenue generation from export.  

The top exporter from India is USA which imports about 6364 tons of aluminium household articles per year. USA is followed by UAE which imports about 4123 tons ofaluminium household articles from India. UK is another leading importer which imports about 2045 tons of aluminium household articles.

The export destinations show that India has good potential in expanding its export of aluminium household articles.  India produces about 2.5 million tonnes of aluminium and exports the most of it. A well-planned manufacturing industry for finished aluminium products and export programme can generate huge revenue from the export of aluminium household articles.
