Hydro breaks ground on Chinese extrusion plants
Norsk Hydro broke ground on two new extrusion plants Sept. 16 in China’s Suzhou region, and expects both presses to come online by the summer of 2012.

One of the presses will be dedicated to precision tubing, while the other will be a general extrusion press, a Hydro spokesman told AMM.

Hydro already has an extrusion plant in Suzhou with two precision tubing presses, which the company opened in 2005.

Norway-based Hydro has invested 315 million kroner ($55.6 million) on the Suzhou expansion.
