Oman will host a number of high level meetings and events related to Aluminium industry early next year.

The Gulf Aluminium Council Dinner which is now considered to be the main gathering of senior executives and Board members of Aluminium producers from the Gulf and other parts of the world as well as executives from industries that have business association with Aluminium industry such as power generation manufacturers, suppliers, bankers and traders will be getting together on the 05th February at the Al Bustan palace hotel.

This prestigious dinner is by invitation only and takes place in one of the Gulf States hosted by Gulf Aluminium Council; Sohar will be the main sponsor for 2014 dinner along with other smelters in the Gulf and oversees.

During the week, the Board of Directors of the Gulf Aluminium Council which consists of all the Chief Executive Officers of Aluminium Smelters in the Gulf will meet in Muscat to discuss issues of common concerns and ways of strengthening the cooperation between aluminium industries in the Gulf. Also for the first time the Aluminium Association Leaders from different parts of the world will have their meeting in Muscat. They represent the Aluminium industry in different regions of the world.

The Communication committee of the International Aluminium Institute which represents the primary Aluminium industry of the world will also have their meeting in Muscat during the same week.

Said Al Masoudi, Acting CEO of Sohar Aluminium, commented that, “Sohar Aluminium is pleased to welcome all the guest in Muscat and said that this activities are the reflection on Oman Aluminium industries progress and development and recognition of its importance to the world”. He added, “The events reflect the popularity of Oman as meeting place for major international events and tourist & cultural destination”.
