European Aluminium Foil Association elects its new president

The European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA) has elected Bruno Rea, commercial director at Laminazione Sottile Group of Italy, as the new president at the Association’s summer conference in Bilbao, Spain.

Bruno Rea said, “The industry enjoyed a record breaking 2016 and the economic outlook, both in Europe and the rest of the world, is very positive. In all the core markets for aluminium foil, such as packaging and construction, the story is one of increasing demand and new opportunities for growth.”

The European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA) is the international body representing companies engaged in the rolling and rewinding of alufoil and in the manufacture of aluminium closures, alufoil semi-rigid containers and of all kind of flexible packaging.

“EAFA has a strong voice thanks to its strong membership and organisation. It is my task to ensure we continue to represent the sector at the highest levels and that the Association leads the way in promoting good practice, resource efficiency, sustainability and innovation,” he added.
