EC clears CITIC bid for German aluminium casting group KSM

The European Commission has decided not to oppose the proposed acquisition by CITIC Dicastal Wheel Manufacturing, a wholly owned subsidiary of China's CITIC Group, of German automotive parts manufacturer KSM Castings Verwaltungsgesellschaft and KSM Castings Holding, the EC said Thursday.
KSM develops, manufactures and sells light metal (primarily aluminium) castings, focusing on powertrain and body components as well as safety-critical chassis parts.
CITIC Dicastal is the world's largest maker and supplier of casting aluminium alloy wheels in terms of 2010 revenue.
