DUBAL wins Employer Award from Higher Colleges of Technology

Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) -that owns and operates the world's largest primary aluminium smelter using pre-bake anode technology - was honoured by Higher Colleges of Technology ("HCT"), Dubai campus, at an award ceremony on 20 May 2013, through receipt of the Employer Award in the Work Experience category. The accolade is a fitting tribute for the on-going efforts of DUBAL in support of HCT and its students.

In terms of a Memorandum of Understanding signed with HCT's Dubai Men's College, DUBAL provides internship and industrial training opportunities to DMC students; and also gives DMC graduates priority in terms of employment at DUBAL.

DUBAL's Work Placement (Internship) programme works in close co-operation with universities and colleges across the UAE by providing opportunities for students to complete the practical training component of their course curricula. Indeed, the corporation is committed to enrolling students for the programme every year and, in 2012, DUBAL's Recruitment department enrolled a total of 50 internship students. "Our Work Placement programme plays a key role in the tertiary education of UAE National students while simultaneously increasing awareness of the DUBAL brand within the student base prior to graduation," says Sultan Al Sabri (Vice President: Human Resources & Organisation Effectiveness). "This helps maintain DUBAL's position on the preferred companies list when students begin actively searching for employment."
